Indian-American entrepreneur and investor Balaji S Srinivasan has received praise from Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his optimism about India’s investment climate. PM Modi expressed his appreciation for Mr. Srinivasan’s positive outlook and reiterated India’s commitment to promoting innovation and welcoming global investments.
Responding to Mr. Srinivasan’s post on why he is investing in India and Indians, PM Modi said, “I love your optimism and will add – the people of India are trendsetters and trailblazers when it comes to innovation. We welcome the world to invest in our nation. India won’t disappoint.”
The Prime Minister’s remarks came in response to a post on X, where Mr. Srinivasan referred to India as an ancient civilization that is also like a startup country. He highlighted the growth potential in India, stating that it helps build up Bharat and a strong and self-sufficient India is beneficial for the world.
Balaji S Srinivasan is a well-known Silicon Valley investor and entrepreneur. He previously served as the Chief Technology Officer of the cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase and held the position of a general partner at Andreessen Horowitz. He has made early investments in various technology companies and cryptocurrency protocols, and is a co-founder of companies such as Earn.com, Counsyl, Teleport, and Coin Center.
With degrees in Electrical Engineering and Chemical Engineering from Stanford University, Mr. Srinivasan has also served as a lecturer in the Departments of Statistics and Computer Science at Stanford. He is the author of the best-selling book “The Network State,” which presents his concept of a successor to the nation-state called the “network state.”
In 2021, Mr. Srinivasan invested in Koo, a microblogging platform positioned as India’s response to X. He is active on X, where he has over 9.62 lakh followers.
