Renzi in London Asserts ‘Things are Worse Without Europe’

There are now 100 days remaining until the pivotal elections that will determine the course of Europe’s future. I am proud to announce that I’m running in all five constituencies. I am ready to put my reputation on the line and I refuse to back down. This is a critical period that requires assertive decisions and robust leadership. My campaign begins in an unlikely place – London, the country that opted to leave Europe. In explaining this decision in my Enews, I stated that “I start from London to express that our conditions worsen without Europe as compared to when we are part of it”.

“Our goal is to reform Europe, not to abandon it. This is the reason why we begin from London. By leaving Europe, the English have found themselves worse off than before. This is a fact supported by figures. Hence, it is fitting that we start from there,” adds Iv, our party leader.

“Europe has unfortunately become a passive player in foreign policy, caught in a tug of war between the United States and China, grappling with persistent unresolved issues and a new global disorder. Europe, which used to symbolize great hope for the generations before us, is now in a state of uncertainty, teetering between bureaucracy and ideology. Europe needs politicians, not technocrats. It requires leaders, not influencers”, I continued to emphasize. “I appeal for your support for Europe – I wrote again in my Enews – because many decisions made in Brussels significantly impact the lives of our citizens. I understand that not everyone who votes for us in the European elections will support us in regional or political elections. However, these European elections are an opportunity for us to make a brave choice for the future of politics.”

I further noted that the upcoming vote on June 8 “will not be an assessment of the national political forces, but instead, on June 8, we will be deciding our future. I urge everyone to really consider – Do we want to concede Europe to the far-right sovereignists or to the far-left populists?”.
