FXI Recalls 48,000 Costco Mattresses Over Mold Exposure Concerns

Novaform mattresses sold exclusively at Costco are being recalled due to reports of mold growth on the beds. The US Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a notice stating that the mattresses may have been exposed to water during the manufacturing process, leading to mold development. This poses a health risk to individuals with compromised immune systems, damaged lungs, or mold allergies.

The two models of mattresses being recalled are the Novaform ComfortGrande 14-inch and Novaform DreamAway 8-inch. The ComfortGrande has a blue base with white lettering that spells out Novaform in the middle, while the DreamAway has a gray base with white letters spelling out Novaform in the bottom right corner. The price range for these mattresses is between $150 and $750.

If you own a Novaform ComfortGrande 14-inch mattress, check the law tag attached to the mattress for the following ITM/ART numbers: 1413200, 1413201, 1413202, 1413203, or 1413204. For the DreamAway 8-inch mattress, look for the numbers 1698562 or 1698564.

The recalled mattresses were sold at Costco online and in-store locations in the Northwest United States and the San Francisco Bay area between January 2023 and June 2023. If you purchased one of these mattresses during that period, you may have a recalled mattress.

There have been 541 reports of mold, but no illnesses or injuries have been reported in connection with this recall.
