IPL 2024 Retentions: Complete Breakdown of Remaining Purse for All 10 Indian Premier League Franchises Unveiled

The IPL franchises have announced their retention lists for the upcoming season, with a total of 174 players being retained and 81 players being released. Among the teams, Kolkata Knight Riders released the most number of players, while Royal Challengers Bangalore added the most money to their auction purse after releasing three big signings.

As the teams prepare for the IPL 2024 auction, here is a look at the remaining purses for each franchise after retaining their core players. Royal Challengers Bangalore leads the pack with INR 40.75 crores, followed by Sunrisers Hyderabad with INR 34 crores, Kolkata Knight Riders with 32.7 crores, Chennai Super Kings with INR 31.4 crores, Punjab Kings with INR 29.1 crores, Delhi Capitals with INR 28.95 crores, Mumbai Indians with INR 15.25 crores, Rajasthan Royals with INR 14.5 crores, Lucknow Super Giants with INR 13.9 crores, and Gujarat Titans with INR 13.85 crores.

In other news, it seems that Hardik Pandya is set to return to the Mumbai Indians franchise for the next IPL season. A one-way all-cash trade deal is reportedly nearing completion. Although Pandya’s name appeared in the list of retained players announced by his current team, Gujarat Titans, it appears that a trade is in progress.

The trading window will remain open until December 12, giving teams more time to make deals, while the mini auction is scheduled to take place on December 19 in Dubai.

Pandya has been associated with the Mumbai Indians since the beginning of his IPL career in 2015 until 2021. During his time with the team, he won four IPL titles. However, with the entry of Gujarat Titans into the competition in 2022, Pandya was picked up by the Ahmedabad-based franchise and even made the captain of the team. He led the Gujarat Titans to a title victory in their debut season and helped them secure the runners-up position in IPL 2023.

These developments set the stage for an exciting IPL 2024 season, with teams strategizing their auction plans and fans eagerly awaiting the action on the field.
