Tragic Incident: Karnataka Couple Kills 3 Children and Commits Suicide, Authorities Say

In a tragic incident in Tumakuru, Karnataka, a couple and their three children were found dead in what appears to be a case of a suicide pact. The police suspect that financial problems and alleged harassment by money lenders led the family to take this extreme step.

The deceased couple, Gharib Sab (46) and Sumaiya (33), have been accused of strangling their children – Hazira (14), Mohammed Subhan (11), and Mohammed Muneer (9) – on Sunday evening. The police have registered a case of murder and abetment to commit suicide against seven people, including the couple and their neighbors.

In a video obtained by the police, Gharib Sab, before hanging himself, pleaded with the state Home Minister G Parameshwara and police officers to take action against those who had pushed them to take such a drastic step. Sab, who was selling “Kabab” for a living, mentioned in the video that he hailed from Lakkenahalli village in Shira Taluk of Tumakuru.

According to reports, Sab was living in extreme poverty and had borrowed money from various individuals, including Khalandar, who allegedly harassed him and his family. The exact details of the harassment are yet to be disclosed.

Upon learning about the incident, Home Minister G Parameshwara expressed his condolences and assured a thorough investigation into the matter.

This heartbreaking incident highlights the urgent need to address issues of financial distress and harassment that can lead individuals and families to resort to such drastic measures. The authorities must take appropriate actions to prevent such tragedies in the future.
