The Madhya Pradesh Congress has raised concerns over the opening of postal ballots before counting in Balaghat. State Congress chief Kamal Nath took to social media to share a video showing officials sorting postal ballots inside a strong-room. The party has filed a complaint with the Election Commission, alleging possible tampering. Nath called for immediate action against those responsible and urged Congress workers to remain vigilant. The video, originally posted by the state Congress, went viral and sparked widespread outrage. The party claims that the District Collector ordered the opening of the strong-room without informing the candidates. The Divisional commissioner has suspended the nodal officer of postal ballots in Balaghat. A local leader of the opposition party said there was confusion initially, but it was later clarified by the local SDM. The Congress is hoping to regain power in the elections held on November 17, while the BJP, which has been in power since 2004, aims to expose the Congress’ pretensions.
