Anand Mahindra Leads Heroic Rescue of 41 Workers Trapped in Uttarakhand Tunnel

All 41 workers who were trapped underground in a tunnel in Uttarakhand’s Silkyara have been successfully rescued. The breakthrough came after rat-miners were brought in and manually dug the final stretch. Anand Mahindra, the Chairman of Mahindra Group, expressed his admiration for the workers on X, formerly known as Twitter, stating that they have shown that no tunnel is too difficult to emerge from and have uplifted the spirits of every Indian citizen.

Mahindra took to the microblogging platform to express his gratitude to all the individuals who worked tirelessly for the past 17 days to save the lives of these workers. He emphasized that their efforts have not only uplifted the spirits of the country but also united everyone in hope. He further emphasized that they have reminded everyone that no tunnel is too difficult to emerge from and no task is impossible when actions and prayers are collaborative and collective.

The first few workers were brought out using modified stretchers after a primary evaluation of their condition by the NDRF personnel. Doctors have confirmed that all the workers are in good health. The rescue operation has made elaborate preparations, including the availability of an Air Force Chinook chopper for emergencies and the creation of a green corridor to transfer the workers to a hospital 35 km away. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Sing Dhami is also present at the site.

The Chief Minister expressed his satisfaction that the workers will finally be reunited with their loved ones after a long wait. He commended the patience and courage shown by their families and saluted the spirit of all the people involved in the rescue operation.
