Step Inside the Enchanting Manipuri Wedding of Randeep Hooda and Lin Laishram

Randeep Hooda and his longtime girlfriend Lin Laishram have tied the knot in a wedding ceremony following Manipuri tradition. Although the couple has not shared their official wedding pictures on social media, a viral video captured the couple performing wedding rituals in Manipuri style. Randeep was seen dressed as a traditional Manipuri groom, while Lin wore gold jewelry with her wedding attire. The video showed the couple seated in the middle, with guests making offerings on a plate placed in front of them. The wedding followed traditional Meitei rituals, including the bride circling the groom seven times and the exchange of garlands.

Randeep expressed his happiness in marrying according to his bride’s tradition, stating, “It feels very good. I felt that it’s only respectful to come and marry in the bride’s tradition. Though I have heard that in Meitei love marriages, the groom has to sit for a very long time. So, that’s something but I am looking forward to the ceremony and traditions. I want to experience my life partner’s culture. That’s why I am here.”

He also shared his excitement about participating in all the rituals with sincerity, saying, “I hope I don’t make any mistakes. And we have been talking about their culture, Manipuri culture and all that for a long time. I am really looking forward to it and hope that all goes well. I am praying for our happy future and lots of kids and lots of abundance. Yes, it’s east meets west. It’s like a traditional or cultural exchange.”

Lin shared pictures from her pre-wedding festivities on her Instagram stories, giving a glimpse of the celebrations with their families and friends. The couple announced their wedding date in an Instagram post, mentioning their marriage would take place on November 29 in Imphal, Manipur, followed by a reception in Mumbai. They expressed their gratitude for the blessings and love they have received for their union of cultures.

Randeep Hooda is a well-known actor known for his roles in films such as Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai, Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster, Sarbjit, and Baaghi 2. He will also be portraying Vinayak Damodar Savarkar in the upcoming film Swatantrya Veer Savarkar, which he is also directing. Lin Laishram is a model, actor, and businesswoman from Manipur, known for her appearances in films like Om Shanti Om, Mary Kom, and Rangoon.
