The Congress party is gaining ground in Telangana, according to exit polls, putting Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) and his Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) party in trouble. The polls suggest that the Congress may win 63-79 seats, while BRS would win 31-47 seats in the 119-member assembly. Another exit poll by Jan Ki Baat predicts that the Congress may take 48-64 seats, BRS 40-55, and the BJP 7-13. TV9 Bharatvarsh-Polstrat exit polls show a close competition between the Congress and BRS with 49-59 and 48-58 seats, respectively. The Congress, BRS, and the BJP are the key competitors in Telangana. However, it is important to note that exit polls have a history of being inaccurate. The Congress has given one seat to its ally CPI, and is contesting in 118 other seats, while AIMIM, led by Asaduddin Owaisi, has fielded candidates in nine segments.
