Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his delight over a selfie taken by Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni during the COP28 climate summit in Dubai. In a tweet, PM Modi stated that “meeting friends is always a delight.” Meloni had shared the selfie on Friday, referring to PM Modi as a “good friend” at COP28.
During the summit, PM Modi had a busy schedule, meeting with various world leaders including Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, British Foreign Secretary David Cameron, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, Turkey President RT Erdogan, Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, and Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu. He also addressed four sessions at the UN climate change conference.
As his trip to the United Arab Emirates came to an end, PM Modi thanked Dubai and described the COP28 Summit as productive. He emphasized the importance of working together for a better planet in a tweet. Additionally, he shared a video showcasing the key moments of his visit.
The COP, also known as the Conference of the Parties, is an annual meeting where world leaders discuss climate-related issues. The first COP meeting took place in Berlin, Germany in 1995.
