Chennai Man Trapped in Lift for 30 Minutes After Missing Flight

He mentioned that due to the flooding caused by Cyclone Michaung, Uber was unable to reach his apartment, causing him to miss his flight to Mumbai. Upon returning home, he encountered a power cut and was trapped in the elevator for 30 minutes before being rescued by members of his housing society.

In a tweet, Ganesh thanked his Uber driver, Prakash, who made multiple attempts to reach him despite the challenging conditions. He also urged others to rate and reward the driver well for his efforts. Ganesh faced questions from internet users who wondered why he ventured out despite warnings from authorities. He explained that he had an important client meeting in Mumbai.

Authorities have responded to the cyclone by declaring a public holiday for today and tomorrow. This decision led to the closure of schools and colleges across the city. Rescue teams have been deployed to ensure the safety of residents. Operations at Chennai airport have been suspended until tomorrow morning, with approximately 70 flights canceled due to runway and tarmac flooding.
