Ravi Bishnoi Claims Top Spot as No. 1 T20I Bowler, Further Solidifies India’s Reign in ICC Rankings

Indian leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi has claimed the top spot in the ICC T20I Ranking charts for bowlers after his remarkable performance in the 5-match series against Australia. Bishnoi’s achievement further solidifies Team India’s domination in the ICC rankings, as they currently hold the number one position in all three formats. Additionally, Indian players Shubman Gill, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Suryakumar Yadav occupy top spots in the rankings for ODI batters, Test bowlers, and T20I batters respectively.

The Indian team’s success extends to the all-rounder category as well, with Ravindra Jadeja holding the numero uno position in Tests. With Bishnoi’s achievement, Team India or Indian players now occupy the top spot in eight different categories of the ICC Rankings.

Bishnoi, at the age of 23, emerged as India’s go-to bowler in the recently concluded series against Australia, taking a total of nine wickets in five games. With 699 rating points, Bishnoi has climbed five places to surpass Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan (692) and claim the number one spot.

Jointly occupying the third position with 679 points are Sri Lankan spinner Wanindu Hasaranga and England’s Adil Rashid. Sri Lanka’s Maheesh Theekshana (677) completes the top five.

Among Indian bowlers in the shortest format, Bishnoi is the sole representative in the top 10, while Axar Patel has climbed nine spots to secure the 18th position.

Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav, who led India to a 4-1 victory in the T20I series against Australia, holds onto the top spot among batters, while opener Ruturaj Gaikwad slips to seventh place.

Despite missing the series against Australia due to injury, Hardik Pandya maintains his position at number three in the all-rounders’ list.
