A shocking incident of road rage in Bengaluru has been caught on camera and shared on social media. The video shows an enraged man confronting a car driver, hurling abuses, and then smashing the car’s windshield with a rock before fleeing the scene. The incident took place near the Horamavu Bridge on November 22 at around 8:30 pm.

The video was captured by Bernard Mascarenhas, who later uploaded it on his Instagram account. Mascarenhas explained that the attack occurred after the driver of the two-wheeler attempted a U-turn and collided with his car. The man on the two-wheeler started shouting in Kannada and making threatening gestures before smashing the car’s windshield and driving away.

Mascarenhas, in his Instagram post, stated that he did not retaliate or step out of his car because he was concerned for his own safety. He decided to record the incident instead. He also expressed his fear of potential harm if he had confronted the attacker.

Mascarenhas has filed a First Information Report (FIR) against the man and has been shaken by the incident. However, the Bengaluru traffic police have not yet responded to the viral video. The video, posted on November 23, has garnered over 167,000 views and numerous concerned comments.

Other social media users shared their own experiences of similar incidents and expressed their support for Mascarenhas. One user narrated a similar incident they faced with their Maharashtra-registered car in Bangalore, while another recalled a similar incident with their friend’s Karnataka-registered car in Pune. Both incidents resulted in complaints being filed and the perpetrators being arrested.

Mascarenhas’ calm and composed behavior during the incident was praised by social media users, who demanded that the offender be punished and held responsible for the damages caused. However, one user expressed skepticism about the effectiveness of police action against such incidents in Bangalore.
