Ex-Wife Teases Married Couple in Fun-Filled Setting

The British thriller series is executed with style.

Tasha (Celine Buckens) literally crashes into middle-aged Jack on his bike (Tom Mison), who is in the process of divorcing his wife Jen. As Jack treats Tasha’s injuries in his luxurious apartment, a spark ignites between them.

They soon embark on a passionate relationship. Tasha finds out she’s pregnant after a few months, a revelation that elates Jack, who had previously struggled to conceive with his ex-wife.

In the 2022 British thriller series “The Ex-Wife”, Tasha is living her dream life with a loving husband, a daughter, and a perfect home. The only issue is Jack’s ex-wife, who can’t seem to leave the new family alone.

Jen frequently visits the house for various reasons, disregarding Jack’s requests for boundaries.

Tasha starts to suspect that something isn’t quite right.

The series features an elegantly executed storyline involving fraud that leaves viewers guessing.

When the Paramount+ original series premiered on British television last October, it faced a wave of sarcastic comments on social media.

Many viewers were drawn to the series due to its captivating plot and talented cast, but there was a substantial amount of attention given to the opulent house in London where the couple resides.

One viewer complained, “Why do all these Channel 5 dramas feature upper-class people in ridiculously upscale homes? It’s like watching an episode of the ‘Grand Designs’ program.”

Another viewer was bewildered by the size of Jack’s apartment, asking, “Who is he (Jack)?” The apartment features a swimming pool, enormous windows, a stylish interior, and a bar stocked like a medium-sized pub.

Janet Montgomery, who plays the ex-wife, gave a tour of the house in a video released by Paramount+.

“It’s pretty great, a bit like a Bond villain,” Montgomery commented while standing in the dark-toned kitchen.

The series often romanticizes everyday life, showing Jack living in a large city apartment with stunning views and expensive furniture, which isn’t typically affordable for the average person.

However, in the second episode, it’s revealed that Jack is a media manager, making it plausible for him to afford such a luxurious home.

The comments on social media suggest that viewers are increasingly desiring shows that depict a more realistic and “normal” lifestyle.

The four-part miniseries is based on a book of the same title by Jess Ryder.

A suitably charming criminal buffoon

The Canadian crime series “Spencer’s Sisters” has big shoes to fill, as it is set in the same location as the popular series “Father Brown and his flock”. The crime-solving mother-daughter duo is instantly charming, much to the delight of Father Brown fans.

Quirky Darby (Stacey Farber) is facing challenges at work, in her personal life, and with her living situation. As a result, she moves back home with her mother Victoria (Leah Thompson).

Victoria, a narcissistic crime writer, immediately starts organizing Darby’s wardrobe, making the snide remark, “You look like a truck driver.”

Despite the predictability of the plot and lack of intricate crime schemes, the series is delightfully goofy. The title of the series refers to the fact that Victoria and Darby are often mistaken for sisters, much to Victoria’s delight.

Lea Thompson, who plays Victoria, is best known for her role as Marty’s mother Lorraine in the “Back to the Future” films. While she isn’t a Hollywood A-lister, she has built a successful career in television and has a passion for directing.

“I might be remembered for some horrible horror movie, so I don’t mind being known for a movie that people love,” Thompson said in a 2022 interview with the Sunday Post.
