In a telephone interview with ‘Il Cittadino’ of Lodi, a 23-year-old student named Irene Cecchini expressed her aspiration to achieve Russian citizenship. “My dream is to have Russian citizenship”, she stated. Irene Cecchini was prominently featured in a dialogue with President Vladimir Putin, which was widely disseminated by Russian media and websites. The Kremlin website also included Cecchini’s photo in a gallery dedicated to the Forum in which Putin participated.
Cecchini further revealed to President Putin her willingness to contribute to the restructuring of the immigration system for those wishing to settle in Russia without a work or study visa. “I also told President Putin this that I am ready to help him build the project to restructure the immigration system for those who want to stay and live in Russia and do not have a work or study visa”, she shared during her lengthy conversation with ‘Il Cittadino’.

In June 2023, Cecchini, during her third academic year, shared an interview on the website of the Institute she attends in Moscow. She wrote: “The State Institute of International Relations is one of the leading universities in Russia in international relations and has a long history of prestigious alumni. Its commitment to academic excellence and research has resulted in numerous publications of academic articles, research papers and books.
