A comprehensive look at the 4 Xbox games that will soon be available on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation – MICROSOFT
Microsoft’s Xbox video games are slated for a release on Nintendo Switch and Sony platforms starting this month of February with Pentiment. This is part of the tech giant’s strategy to roll out four of their titles on these platforms between now and May.
On February 15, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer made an announcement on the official Xbox podcast. He confirmed that the company would be launching four of its own titles on other platforms, without revealing the specific titles at that time.
Later, on a Wednesday, he confirmed the names of the games that would be making their way to PlayStation and Nintendo Switch consoles. The lineup includes Pentiment, Hi-Fi RUSH, Grounded, and Sea of Thieves and they will be released progressively starting this month of February.
The first game to be released is Pentiment, developed by Obsidian Entertainment. First announced at the 2022 ‘Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase’, this narrative game is set in 14th century Bavaria and lets players experience life through the eyes of an artist during a period of significant social unrest. The game’s unique style, inspired by illuminated manuscripts and wood engravings, is one of its standout features.
Pentiment will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch from February 22. Another game from Obsidian Entertainment, Grounded, a cooperative survival adventure, is set to hit the same platforms on April 16. This game will feature cross-play between Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC.
Hi-Fi RUSH, a rhythm-based action game where the entire world syncs to the beat of the music, is developed by Tango Gameworks/Bethesda Softworks and will be available on PlayStation 5 on March 19. Meanwhile, Sea of Thieves, a game developed by Rare, is set to sail onto PlayStation 5 on April 30. Cross-play capabilities between Xbox, PlayStation, and PC will allow players to embark on epic pirate adventures with their friends across multiple platforms.
