Leclerc, a talented driver hailing from Monaco, completed a total of 74 laps while at the helm of the iconic red car. He managed to record the best time of 1’30”322, effectively setting the bar high for his competitors.
Close on his heels was George Russell of Mercedes, who hails from Britain. Russell managed to clock in a time of 1’30”368. Zhou Guanyu of Sauber also put up an impressive performance, with the Chinese driver recording a time of 1’30”647. The fourth spot was claimed by Max Verstappen of the Netherlands. The reigning world champion, who competes with Red Bull, completed a total of 66 laps, with his fastest time being 1’30”755.
Carlos Sainz, another prominent figure on the track, was the star of the morning session. The Spanish driver, who also represents Ferrari, managed to complete 71 laps. His best lap time stood at 1’31”247, a time which served as a reference point in the morning. However, by the end of the day, his time was the ninth overall fastest.
