The Audio Magic Eraser utilizes AI technology to automatically reduce the volume of non-essential audio in videos. During the Pixel 8 launch event, a demonstration showed the feature in action, as it effectively eliminated the sound of a barking dog while a baby was being recorded.
Users can choose from predefined noise categories, including speech, crowd, noise, wind, and music, to customize their audio experience. While it may not provide the same level of manual control as the Magic Eraser photo feature, it still offers some flexibility in selecting which sounds to remove or keep in videos.
Currently, the Audio Magic Eraser is exclusively available on the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. Google has not confirmed whether the feature will be extended to older Pixel models or the recently released Pixel Fold.
