Uorfi Javed Receives Death Threats for Her Halloween Recreation of ‘Chhote Pandit’

Uorfi Javed, a popular actor and reality star, is no stranger to controversy due to her unique fashion choices. While her outfits have often been praised for their creativity, they have also attracted criticism. In her most recent post, she recreated actor Rajpal Yadav’s iconic look from the movie ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ for Halloween. However, this has resulted in her becoming the target of online trolls, with some even sending death threats.

For her Halloween costume, Uorfi Javed decided to dress up as ‘Chhote Pandit’, the character played by Rajpal Yadav in the hit film. She painted her face red, wore an orange dhoti and a red top, and completed the look with a marigold garland around her neck and incense sticks on her ears.

As soon as she shared the video on Instagram, several users criticized her for allegedly insulting and offending Hindus. The 26-year-old actor revealed that she had received death threats over the video and shared screenshots of the emails she received.

Expressing her shock and disappointment, Uorfi Javed said on X (formerly Twitter), “I’m just shocked and appalled by this country, man. I’m getting death threats for recreating a character from a movie, whereas that character didn’t receive any backlash.”

One of the emails shared by the actor was from a man named Nikhil Goswami, who threatened to kill her if she didn’t delete the video. Another email, from a man named Rupesh Kumar, accused her of defaming the Hindu religion and warned, “Live your life, I will shoot you at the intersection.”

The incident has sparked a debate on social media about freedom of expression and the limits of cultural appropriation. Many have come out in support of Uorfi Javed, condemning the death threats and defending her right to express herself through her fashion choices.

It remains to be seen how Uorfi Javed will respond to these threats and whether any action will be taken against those who sent them. In the meantime, this incident serves as a reminder of the online harassment and abuse that public figures often face, highlighting the need for stricter measures to combat such behavior.
