Newly Released Body Cam Footage Reveals Fatal Shooting at Berkeley Auto Dealership

The Berkeley Police Department has released body camera footage of a tragic shooting incident at a car dealership, which began with a man killing the mother of his son who worked there. The incident took place on September 21, just before 11:15 a.m., when multiple 911 calls reported an active shooter at the Toyota of Berkeley Service Center on Eastshore Highway. According to callers, a man had entered the service center and opened fire, fatally shooting a woman.

Within minutes of receiving the distress calls, Berkeley and Albany police officers arrived at the Toyota dealership. Some officers were equipped with tactical gear as a precautionary measure. Upon arrival, there was no sound of gunfire, but the officers still proceeded to enter the business to search for potential victims and suspects.

The body camera footage shows a team of officers reaching the second floor of the building, where they encountered 24-year-old Lamar Walker. Walker was crouched near a desk, pointing a silver firearm at the officers. In response, five officers discharged their firearms, fatally striking Walker.

During the search, officers discovered the lifeless body of 24-year-old Alonna Gallon near the suspect. The surveillance footage released by the police showed that Walker had shot her point-blank at her desk. It was later revealed that Walker was the father of Gallon’s 7-year-old son, King.

Yuvonda Gallon, the mother of Alonna Gallon, disclosed that Walker had recently moved back to California from Atlanta. She also mentioned that her daughter and Walker had not been in a relationship for some time, but they were co-parenting King. Unfortunately, King is now left without both his parents.

Yuvonda Gallon expressed her deep sadness, recounting the heartbreaking moment when she had to inform King about the loss of his mother and father. King initially refused to believe the news and cried as he saw everyone else mourning the tragic loss. The incident has left a profound impact on the family and the community at large.
