Police in Winter Haven, Florida, are searching for three women who allegedly stole a woman’s purse after she accidentally left it inside a shopping cart at a local Walmart. The incident occurred on October 31 at the Walmart located at 7450 Cypress Gardens Blvd. According to the Winter Haven Public Safety Department, the victim left her purse inside the cart after loading her purchases into her vehicle.
Shortly after the victim left, three women arrived at the same parking spot. Surveillance footage captured the women discovering the purse in the cart. Instead of doing the right thing and returning it, the women allegedly tossed the purse into their vehicle before entering the store.
The stolen purse contained $1800 in cash, as well as credit cards and sentimental items that cannot be replaced, according to officials. Two charges were made on the victim’s cards before they were canceled.
In an effort to identify the suspects, authorities have released surveillance photos of the three women. They are hoping that someone will recognize them and come forward with information.
