U.S. Secret Service agents assigned to safeguard President Joe Biden’s granddaughter took action when three individuals attempted to break into an unmarked Secret Service vehicle in Washington on Sunday, as reported by the Associated Press.

According to a statement from the U.S. Secret Service, agents encountered a group of “possibly three” individuals trying to break a window on an unoccupied government vehicle. In response, one agent discharged their weapon, causing the suspects to immediately flee the scene.

The Secret Service stated that it is believed no one was injured in the incident. However, it did not confirm whether the agent who fired the weapon was part of the detail assigned to protect Naomi Biden, Joe Biden’s granddaughter. The incident occurred shortly before midnight in the upscale Georgetown neighborhood of Washington.

The Secret Service emphasized that there was no threat to any of the protectees during the incident. The Associated Press, citing an anonymous official, reported that the agents were accompanying Naomi Biden in the neighborhood at the time. However, a Secret Service spokesperson declined to confirm this account due to security reasons.
