Maryanne Trump Barry, the older sister of former President Donald Trump and a former federal judge, passed away at the age of 86, according to sources. She was found in her Fifth Avenue apartment early in the morning, and there were no signs of foul play or trauma. Emergency crews responded to a call of cardiac arrest.

Barry served as a senior judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit until her retirement in 2019. She was initially appointed to the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey by President Ronald Reagan in 1983 and later appointed to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit by President Bill Clinton in 1999.

However, her retirement came amid an investigation into allegations of judicial misconduct related to fraudulent tax and financial transactions involving her father and siblings. The investigation was inconclusive as it was closed when Barry retired in February 2019.

This marks the third sibling of the former president to pass away. Robert Trump, his youngest brother, died in August 2020 at the age of 71, while Fred Trump Jr. died from a heart attack at 42 years old in September 1981.

The relationship between Donald Trump and his older sister became strained towards the end of his presidency. Mary Trump, Donald’s niece, released a book and audio recordings where Maryanne was critical of her younger brother. However, sources indicate that the siblings had been working towards repairing their relationship and had seen each other as recently as this summer at Trump’s club in Bedminster, New Jersey.

A spokesman for former President Trump declined to comment on the news of Maryanne Trump Barry’s passing.
