Microsoft’s AI technology, Copilot, is predicted to generate $10 billion in annual revenue by 2026, according to an analyst. Despite a staggered rollout, 40% of Fortune 100 companies were testing Copilot by fall. In 2024, it is estimated that 6.9 million US knowledge workers will be using some form of Copilot. Microsoft recently announced three new Copilot offerings at the Ignite 2023 conference: Copilot for Azure, Copilot for Service, and Copilot in Dynamics 365 Guides. The company also introduced Copilot Studio, a platform that connects Copilot for Microsoft 365 to third-party data. Copilot for Azure is a chat-driven assistant for cloud customers that suggests configurations and helps with troubleshooting. Copilot for Service is designed for customer service use cases and integrates with CRM software. Copilot in Dynamics 365 Guides uses generative AI to provide instructions and answers to frontline workers wearing HoloLens 2 headsets. Copilot Studio allows businesses to customize and extend Copilot.
