Hyundai Set to Launch the Highly-Anticipated Ioniq 5 N EV in March

Hyundai has confirmed that its highly anticipated Ioniq 5 N electric vehicle will be available for purchase in March of next year. The car will be sold through approved retailers and will also be unveiled to US consumers at AutoMobility LA. While the pricing details have not been disclosed yet, it’s exciting to finally have a definite release date for the Ioniq 5 N, which was first teased in July.

The Ioniq 5 N is Hyundai’s first electric vehicle under its N sub-brand, which focuses on high-performance vehicles. This upgraded version of the standard Ioniq 5 EV boasts impressive acceleration, going from zero to 60 MPH in just over three seconds and reaching a top speed of 161 MPH. In comparison, the older Ioniq 5 model had a maximum speed of 115 MPH. The Ioniq 5 N features dual motors that generate 641 Horsepower (478 kW) when the proprietary N Grin Boost is engaged.

As an electric vehicle, the Ioniq 5 N requires special attention to its battery. The vehicle is equipped with a newly-designed 84 kWh battery that includes a thermal regulation system to minimize power degradation caused by heat. When connected to a DCFC 350 kW charger, the battery can go from 10 percent to 80 percent capacity in just 18 minutes.

The Ioniq 5 N is packed with high-performance features, many of which bear the N branding. These include the specially-tuned N R-MDPS (Rack-Mounted Motor-Driven Power Steering) system, the N Pedal system for responsive handling, the N Drift Optimizer for maintaining the perfect drift angle, and the N Brake Regen system for conserving battery power.

Hyundai has also focused on providing a superior driving experience with precise control, especially in challenging driving conditions. The integrated 10-speaker sound system enhances driver feedback. Every aspect of the vehicle, from the steering wheel to the pedals, incorporates N-branded elements. The car’s control center has been redesigned and now features a sliding armrest, knee pads, shin support, USB-C ports, a wireless charger, and, the most technologically advanced feature of all, cupholders.

The Ioniq 5 N will be available for purchase in March, with pricing details to be announced at a later date. Considering that the standard Ioniq 5 starts at $39,700, it’s expected that the N version will be priced higher, possibly significantly higher.
