A 52-year-old man in California has been found guilty of secretly videoing a “sexual encounter” with his partner and subsequently sharing the video with a friend via text message, according to officials from the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office. The incident came to light when the woman discovered the recording and promptly reported it to the San Francisco Police Department. Assistant District Attorney Elizabeth Bertolino emphasized the importance of feeling safe with one’s intimate partner, particularly during vulnerable moments. The man is currently in custody and is awaiting sentencing, which is scheduled for December. If convicted, he could face a maximum sentence of six months in jail.
