Deputies in Marion County, Florida are currently on the hunt for a woman who allegedly used a fraudulent cashier’s check to “purchase” a BMW from an auto shop. The suspect, identified as Alexandria Walker, is wanted for grand theft of a motor vehicle and organized fraud following the incident that occurred on October 11. According to authorities, Walker visited Baseline Auto Care Center in Ocala and expressed her interest in buying a BMW. After completing all the necessary paperwork, she handed over a cashier’s check to cover the full price of the car, along with a $100 tip. However, when the auto shop attempted to deposit the check, they discovered that it was fake. They promptly contacted Walker, who assured them that she would return to settle the payment. However, she has yet to do so, leaving law enforcement officials frustrated. In the process of investigating the case, deputies managed to locate the stolen BMW. Inside the vehicle’s trunk, they discovered printers, blank checks, and an iPad. The Marion County Sheriff’s Office took to Facebook to issue a stern warning to Walker, urging her to turn herself in. They also encouraged anyone with information about the incident to contact Crime Stoppers of Marion County. It is worth noting that Walker has a prior arrest record from March on similar charges.
