Nikki Haley Shares Opinion on Trump’s Controversial Labeling of Opponents as ‘Vermin’

Former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley has voiced her disagreement with former President Donald Trump’s use of the word “vermin” to describe his political opponents. Trump’s remarks, made during a Veterans Day speech, drew widespread criticism due to its resemblance to Nazi rhetoric.

During a town hall event in Newton, Iowa, Haley, who is currently tied with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for second place in the latest Iowa Poll, was asked about Trump’s comments. She stated, “The reality is I don’t agree with that statement any more than I agree when he said Hezbollah was smart or any more than I agree when he hit Netanyahu when his country was on its knees after all that brutality. It’s the chaos of it all, right?”

Haley was referring to previous comments made by Trump about the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah, which he praised as “very smart,” and his criticism of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu following an attack on Israel by Hamas. However, Trump later retracted his criticism of Netanyahu.

While Haley acknowledged her good working relationship with Trump during her tenure as United Nations ambassador, she also expressed her concerns about his comments and their impact on Republican electoral success. She believes that such remarks contribute to distractions and prevent the party from focusing on important issues, such as national security.

Haley recently made campaign appearances in Iowa as part of her two-day trip. According to a Des Moines Register/NBC News/Mediacom Iowa Poll conducted in October, Haley and DeSantis were tied at 16% in the Republican presidential race, with Trump leading at 43%.

In conclusion, Haley criticized Trump’s “chaos” and emphasized the importance of remaining focused on critical issues for the sake of national security.
