Billionaire CEO Treats 1,200 Employees to Trip to Tokyo Disneyland

In an extraordinary gesture, billionaire CEO Ken Griffin took 1,200 of his employees and their families on a three-day paid trip to Tokyo Disneyland. The CEO of Citadel LLC and Citadel Securities organized the special anniversary celebration, covering all expenses for travel, accommodation, food, Disney tickets, entertainment, and childcare.

The event, held from October 27 to 29, brought together employees from six offices across the Asia Pacific region, including Hong Kong, Singapore, Sydney, Shanghai, Tokyo, and Gurugram. The attendees enjoyed visits to both Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea, along with their spouses and children. To add to the excitement, popular band Maroon 5 and DJ Calvin Harris were hired for a private performance.

During the celebration, Mr. Griffin expressed his admiration for the talents within his company, stating, “Today, the range of talent we have brought together is simply astonishing. We’ve created not one, but two firms at the forefront of the industry. Together, we have imagined and built the future of finance.”

This is not the first time Mr. Griffin has shown his appreciation for his employees. Last year, he organized a similar all-inclusive trip for his US, Canadian, and European staff and their families at Disney World. The celebration included exclusive access to the park, hotel accommodations, meals, and a concert featuring Coldplay, Carly Rae Jepsen, and DJ Diplo.

Approximately 10,000 people attended last year’s celebration, showcasing the company’s growth and market success. Despite a challenging year for many hedge funds, Citadel and Citadel Securities have thrived, thanks to their dedicated workforce. Mr. Griffin’s net worth is estimated to be $35.4 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

The lavish trips and celebrations serve as a token of gratitude from Mr. Griffin to his employees for their hard work and dedication. These gestures highlight his commitment to fostering a positive work environment and recognizing the contributions of his team members.
