Father of Mahadev Betting App Scam Accused Found Dead; Police Investigate Possible Suicide

The father of a man accused in the Mahadev betting app scam was found dead in suspicious circumstances in Durg district, Chhattisgarh. Sushil Das, aged 62, had been missing for two days before his body was discovered in a well in Achhoti village. The police suspect it to be a case of suicide. Sushil Das was the father of Asim Das, who was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for his alleged involvement in the scam. Sushil Das worked as a security guard and had been missing since Sunday evening. The exact cause of his death is yet to be determined, and further investigation is underway. Asim Das and constable Bhim Singh Yadav were arrested by the ED on November 3. Asim Das was found in possession of Rs 5.39 crore in cash, which the ED claimed was intended for election expenses of the ruling Congress Party. However, Das has denied delivering cash to politicians and alleged that he was framed as part of a conspiracy.
