Ford’s Production Workers in Kentucky, Louisville Reject Proposed Labor Agreement

The United Auto Workers (UAW) production workers at Ford’s Louisville assembly and Kentucky truck plants have rejected a proposed four-and-a-half year contract, according to the union’s local unit on Facebook. Out of the production workers, 55% voted against ratifying the contract, while the skilled trades workers voted in favor of the deal, with 69% supporting it. The union did not disclose the overall percentage of votes in favor or the total number of votes cast. Both the union and Ford have not yet responded to requests for comment from Reuters.

This vote comes as union workers are voting on contracts from Stellantis, GM, and Ford, following the first coordinated strike against Detroit’s Big Three automakers. In a similar development, UAW union members at General Motors’ Flint assembly plant in Michigan narrowly voted against the proposed contract with the U.S. automaker.
