French Actor Gerard Depardieu Faces New Rape Accusation

In the unfolding saga of accusations against prominent French actor Gerard Depardieu, there is a new name that has been added to the growing list of accusers. A set designer has recently come forward with allegations against the actor, alleging sexual assault during the shooting of a film in Paris in 2021. The film is titled ‘Les volets verts’, directed by esteemed director Jean Becker.

The woman behind these allegations is being represented by Carine Durrieu-Diebolt, a lawyer who has previously represented actress Charlotte Arnould. Arnould is also among the alleged victims of rape by Depardieu. The recent complainant has lodged a formal complaint against Depardieu, accusing him of sexual assault while on the set of the aforementioned film.

At 75 years of age, Depardieu finds himself embroiled in multiple accusations of varying degrees of sexual misconduct, ranging from rape and sexual harassment to assault. His accusers now number in the double digits, with over a dozen women coming forward with their stories of alleged abuse at the hands of the actor.

Depardieu, for his part, has remained steadfast in his denial of all the accusations that have been levelled against him. His claims of innocence, however, have not stemmed the flow of accusations. In fact, according to investigative journal Mediapart, another woman has alleged that she was harassed by Depardieu on the set of ‘Les volets verts’ in August 2021.
