“In my recent exploration, I followed the historical tracks of Oppenheimer and the other physicists who were a significant part of the ‘Manhattan project’. During this exploration, I also uncovered the riveting stories of the women scientists who contributed to this groundbreaking project. Among these brilliant women, the one who captivated my interest the most was Leona Woods. I was so inspired by her story that I felt compelled to share it with the world in the form of a diary record of that era. This diary not only narrates the journey and struggles of Leona Woods as a scientist but also provides a broader understanding of the period. This narration is at the heart of my latest work ‘The Woman of the Atomic Bomb’,” explains Gabriella Greison, a physicist, science communicator, actress, and writer. Gabriella Greison is not just the writer of this work, but also performs it in a theatrical show. Published by Mondadori, the book will be available in bookstores from February 20th. The theatrical version of ‘The Woman of the Atomic Bomb’ will begin its tour on March 1st at the Nembro auditorium in Bergamo.
