Government Officer Prathima KS Brutally Murdered at Her Bengaluru Residence: Unveiling the Mystery Surrounding Her Tragic Demise

Prathima KS, a senior government officer in Karnataka, was tragically murdered at her home in Bengaluru. Colleagues remember her as a brave and dynamic individual who had recently been promoted.

Prathima, 45, was employed with the Department of Mines and Geology and was highly regarded for her successful raids. Her colleagues praised her for her outstanding work and reputation within the department. Dinesh, a senior officer in the Karnataka Environment Department, stated, “She earned a great name for herself in the department through her raids and actions. She recently conducted raids at a few places and made no enemies. She diligently carried out her work and gained a well-deserved reputation.”

Living alone in Bengaluru, Prathima’s husband is an agriculturist residing in Thirthahalli town, where their son studies in Class 10.

The incident took place on Saturday evening, shortly after Prathima returned from work. Concerned by her lack of response to his calls, her brother discovered her lifeless body on Sunday morning.

Evidence suggests that Prathima was attacked as she entered her house, with her throat being slit and multiple stab wounds inflicted. The assailant apparently dragged her body inside the house before fleeing the scene.

The police suspect that the perpetrator was known to Prathima, and there was no indication of robbery.

Prathima, who earned her Masters from Kuvempu University in Shivamogga, joined the Mines and Geology Department as a geologist in 2008. She had previously worked in Ramnagara for over a year, specializing in rural areas. Just a year ago, she was promoted to senior geologist and appointed Deputy Director.

Recently, Prathima had conducted a raid on an illegal quarry, resulting in a reported loss of Rs 25 lakh. Subsequently, a case was filed against a BJP MLA and three others.

According to the police, Prathima had been living alone in her double-storied independent house in Bengaluru for the past five years.
