In response, Sanders expressed his doubts about achieving a permanent ceasefire with an organization like Hamas, which he believes is committed to causing turmoil, chaos, and the destruction of Israel. He emphasized that the Arab countries in the region also recognize the need for Hamas to be removed. Sanders highlighted the urgency to cease the bombings and address the dire humanitarian crisis. He stressed the importance of working together with the international community to pursue a two-tier, two-state solution that offers hope for the Palestinian people.
Meanwhile, the Biden administration is facing mounting pressure from progressive activists to play a role in facilitating a ceasefire in the ongoing conflict.
