Human Rights Activists Oppose Aerial Delivery of Humanitarian Aid to Palestinians

Refugees International, a renowned organization focused on human rights, has voiced its assertions that the airdrop of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, carried out by planes and helicopters, is primarily in service of Israeli interests. The organization alleges that these actions actively contribute to the promotion and propagation of the Israeli “narrative.”

Jeremy Konendyk, the head of Refugees International, made it clear that the perceived benefits from these airdrops are in fact negligible. He further elaborated, indicating that those who endorse the dumping of aid and maintain a high level of media coverage surrounding it, are aiding in the creation of a false illusion. This illusion insinuates that Israel is actively cooperating with parties seeking to address and rectify humanitarian issues when the reality, according to Konendyk, might be different.

The humanitarian aid that is being dropped in the Gaza Strip includes a range of essential items such as food, fuel, and medicine. The execution of this humanitarian operation is a collective effort involving several countries. These include Jordan and Egypt, who are coordinating the operation in association with Israel. Additionally, several other countries are participating in this operation, including the United Arab Emirates, the United States, France, and the United Kingdom.
