Several cities in the Coachella Valley will be under a high wind watch starting from Sunday night. The watch will be in effect from 8 p.m. on Sunday until 2 p.m. on Tuesday. Additionally, a wind advisory will remain in effect from 2 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
The cities that will be impacted by the high wind watch include Cathedral City, Desert Edge, Palm Springs, Sky Valley, Thousand Palms, and Desert Hot Springs.
According to the National Weather Service alert, the wind advisory predicts western winds of 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 70 mph. As for the high wind watch in multiple cities, eastern winds of 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 70 mph are possible.
