Israeli Ground Forces Advance into Gaza City, Hamas Stronghold
In a recent development, Daniel Hagari, spokesperson for the Israel Defence Forces (IDF), has announced that ground forces have made significant progress in Gaza City. According to Hagari, the IDF is intensifying the pressure on Gaza City, which is believed to be the main stronghold of Hamas, the Palestinian militant group.
Hagari highlighted the success of nighttime airstrikes and operations in which several Hamas field commanders were killed. These operations have significantly hampered Hamas’s ability to launch counterattacks against the IDF.
Regarding Hamas’s intricate network of tunnels, Hagari revealed that engineering and technical forces are diligently working to destroy every tunnel they encounter. They are employing various means and devices to ensure the destruction of these underground passages.
This recent advancement by the IDF follows previous reports of Israeli forces targeting Hamas militants in the extensive network of Gaza tunnels on October 31. Ground forces also engaged in clashes with Hamas terrorist cells in the northern part of the Gaza Strip on the night of November 1-2, resulting in the deaths of numerous militants.
Furthermore, IDF engineering troops initiated a large-scale operation to demolish Hamas tunnels that had already been entered by IDF troops. Over 100 tunnels have been successfully destroyed as part of this mission.
Moreover, the IDF has reported its ongoing operation inside the city of Gaza, where they are surrounding it from multiple sides. This strategic move aims to further weaken Hamas’s hold on the city and disrupt their activities.
On November 6, the IDF announced that ground forces had seized a Hamas stronghold overnight and conducted strikes on 450 targets. These actions are part of Israel’s continued ground offensive in the Gaza Strip.
