Michigan Police Discover Body of Missing Father and Football Coach, Authorities Confirm

The remains of a 27-year-old father, James Wilkins, were discovered buried in the woods in Michigan, more than five months after he went missing, according to the police. On November 13, the Warren Police found Wilkins’ body in a remote area of Oscoda Township with the assistance of a cadaver dog. The area was densely covered with brush and trees, making the discovery challenging. Wilkins was reported missing on June 9, and authorities immediately suspected foul play. The distance between Warren and the location where his body was found is approximately 130 miles.

Reggie Edwards, Wilkins’ father, expressed his grief, stating, “He does not deserve this to happen to him, he has done nothing all his life he’s been a good boy, he’s never given us problems.” Two arrests have already been made in connection with the case. Wilkins’ roommate, 27-year-old Donald Renfoe, faces charges of first-degree murder and other related offenses. Another individual is accused of being an accessory after Wilkins’ death.

During a search of Wilkins and Renfoe’s apartment, detectives discovered a patched bullet hole in the wall and suspected blood. Police further revealed that on the day Wilkins disappeared, Renfoe rented cleaning equipment and bought additional cleaning supplies from a local hardware store. The investigation also indicated that Renfoe collaborated with a male friend, Darius Glenn, to clean out Wilkins’ apartment and likely dispose of his body.

Renfoe fled to Ohio but was later apprehended on unrelated charges. If convicted of murder, he could face a mandatory life sentence. Described as a “loving father and football coach” by the police, Wilkins was deeply involved in his children’s lives. His cousin Anne Lynn emphasized his dedication as a father, stating, “He was very active in their lives. He wanted to be there for every milestone.”

In other news, a mother in California expressed her frustration as her son’s body remained “discarded” at a morgue for five months while she tirelessly searched for him. Additionally, a 79-year-old hunter mysteriously disappeared, leaving his wife in anguish as she awaits his return. Finally, in Illinois, the father of two was found dead in a lake just days after jumping from a boat, according to reports.
