A teacher at a high school in Missouri has been placed on leave after it was discovered that she had an OnlyFans account. Megan Gaither, a 31-year-old English teacher and varsity cheerleading coach, revealed in an interview with the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that she was suspended from her positions on October 27 after school officials found out about her involvement with the adult content platform. Gaither explained that she joined OnlyFans because she has over $125,000 in student loans and needed the additional income to support herself.
According to the report, Gaither’s salary, including the stipend she received for coaching, was approximately $47,500. She initially deactivated her OnlyFans account around the same time when another English teacher, Brianna Coppage, was placed on leave for selling explicit content. However, Gaither was later exposed for her side hustle.
When Gaither took down her account, she had around 1,500 subscribers and was making an extra $3,000 to $5,000 per month. She emphasized that all of her content was anonymous, with no identifiable face shown. Speculation about Gaither’s involvement on the platform began after she appeared in a video posted on Coppage’s account. Although Gaither’s face was not visible in the video, it was filmed at a party, and she was seen wearing the same costume as in the OnlyFans video.
Gaither expressed her shock at how this situation has affected her career, saying, “I was in like maybe four minutes of the entire thing, and I definitely did not think this would be the thing that would ruin my entire career.” She received a note from a student who claimed to know her secret, prompting the district administration to place her on leave for alleged unprofessionalism and inappropriate communication with students, accusations she denies.
The superintendent of the school district, Kyle Kruse, stated that the district has no comment at this time. Gaither hopes that her OnlyFans account will help support her family, and she also wants to bring attention to the issue of low teacher pay. She believes that joining OnlyFans was a necessary decision in order to make ends meet.
Gaither’s best friend and fellow teacher, Brianna Coppage, also had an OnlyFans account and resigned from her position earlier in October after being placed on leave. Coppage told Fox News Digital that she has earned nearly $1 million from selling explicit content on OnlyFans.
Gaither expressed her love for teaching and her intention to speak out about her situation. She wrote in a Facebook post, “I LOVE education and teaching, and I loved seeing my students and cheerleaders learn and grow into themselves. I’m damned good at helping them do that.” Gaither believes that her decision to pursue a side hustle was a responsible choice to manage her student loan debt and support herself financially. She plans to share her story and advocate for fair teacher pay.
The St. Clair R-XIII School District has not provided a comment on the matter.
