Former President Trump launched a scathing attack on his former attorney general, Bill Barr, following Barr’s critique of Trump’s speaking abilities. In his post, Trump labeled Barr as “Dumb, Weak, Slow Moving, Lethargic, Gutless, and Lazy,” further implying that Barr was a “Republican in Name Only” (RINO) who lacked the ability to perform his duties. Trump claimed that Barr’s reluctance to be impeached, which he attributed to pressure from the “Radical Left Lunatics,” was the reason behind Barr’s criticisms.
Continuing his tirade, Trump mentioned that he had been tough on Barr during their time in the White House for valid reasons. He expressed surprise at Barr’s comment about his limited verbal skills, urging Barr to consider the massive political crowds he had attracted throughout his presidency. Trump concluded by labeling Barr a “LOSER.”
Barr, who resigned in 2020 after Trump refused to accept the election results, had made his remarks about Trump’s speaking abilities during an event at the University of Chicago’s Institute of Politics. According to Barr, Trump often relied on excessive and unfamiliar adjectives, causing him to go too far in his statements.
As one of Trump’s most prominent critics within the Republican Party, Barr regularly disputes Trump’s claims of voter fraud and “persecution” by law enforcement. His public criticism has further widened the divide between him and the former president.
