Trump Lawyer Alina Habba Expresses Confidence in Secret Service’s Role in Protecting Trump from Prison

Alina Habba, former President Donald Trump’s attorney, has dismissed concerns about his potential imprisonment, citing his Secret Service protection. In an interview with conservative network Newsmax, host Carl Higbie raised the issue of the ex-president’s partial gag orders in his New York business fraud case and D.C. election interference case. Higbie asked, “Could they even possibly throw him in jail? What would that look like?” Habba responded, “He’s protected by Secret Service, period. So I always tell people when they’re panicked, listen, he’s protected by Secret Service, number one. Number two, he did nothing wrong.”

Habba further emphasized the role of Secret Service in protecting Trump and downplayed the possibility of him being jailed. She acknowledged the existence of corrupt situations both inside and outside of the court but expressed confidence in the trial process and the facts supporting Trump’s innocence. Habba stated, “They [the opposition] could try, probably. But it won’t work because there is still a trial process. There are still facts, and unfortunately, they’re not going to win on the facts. Secret Service will always protect President Trump. That’s the truth. They have to. Wherever he is.”

Habba dismissed the notion that Trump’s legal troubles were solely political and highlighted that he has not committed any criminal or civil wrongs. She even questioned whether making money for banks could be considered a civil wrong. Habba attributed concerns about Trump’s potential imprisonment to “Trump derangement syndrome” and reassured the American public that neither she nor Trump were worried about the situation.
