5-Year-Old Brutally Assaulted and Murdered in Odisha Slum, Accused Spotted With Victim at Shop

A horrifying incident occurred in Bhubaneswar, where a five-year-old girl was allegedly raped and brutally murdered in a slum. The incident took place in the Kela Sahi area of Sundarpada, under the jurisdiction of Airfield Police Station, on Monday evening when the young girl was alone at her house.

According to the police, the accused, who is also a resident of the slum, entered the girl’s house and committed the heinous crime before fleeing the scene. The girl’s parents, upon returning from work, discovered that their daughter was missing. After a desperate search, they tragically found her lifeless body hidden under the bed.

A shop owner nearby came forward and claimed that the girl had been seen with the accused at his shop, where they had come to buy chocolate. Other witnesses also confirmed seeing the accused entering and leaving the girl’s house. This information provides crucial evidence for the investigation.

To bring justice to the victim and her family, the Airfield Police Station has launched a special squad to apprehend the accused. Officer-in-charge Ashok Nayak stated that initial findings suggest that the accused acted alone in committing this heinous act.

The girl’s body has been sent for a post-mortem examination, and a scientific team will collect evidence from the crime scene to aid in the investigation.
