Exciting News: Virat Kohli’s New Teammate Shares IPL’s Big-Money Star’s Anticipated Message

Australian all-rounder Cameron Green has expressed his excitement to play for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Mumbai Indians (MI) traded Green to RCB ahead of the IPL 2024 player auction.

In a video released by RCB, Green said, “Hey RCB fans, it is Cam Green here, I am excited to join Andy Flower (the team’s head coach). I can’t wait to see you guys at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, cheers.” Green was bought by MI for Rs 17.5 crore at the auction last December and featured in 16 matches, making an impressive start to the IPL with 452 runs, including an unbeaten century and two half-centuries, and also taking six wickets.

Green has a strong T20I record, scoring 697 runs in 37 matches at an average of 29.04, with a strike rate of over 151. He has scored a century and four fifties, with a best score of 100*. He has also taken 11 wickets, with the best figures of 2/16.

RCB also released a tweet welcoming Green to the team, saying, “Bengaluru’s Greenery Green’s monstrous hits – time to make safety helmets at the Cubbon Park mandatory. You’ll enjoy the love of the best fans in the world, Greeny! #PlayBold #ನಮ್ಮRCB #IPL2024.”

The trade of Green to RCB coincided with Mumbai Indians’ successful acquisition of all-rounder Hardik Pandya from Gujarat Titans in another high-profile all-cash deal. RCB has also released several players ahead of the IPL next year, including Sri Lanka spinner Wanindu Hasaranga, Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood, and Indian pacer Harshal Patel.

Other released players from RCB include New Zealand players Finn Allen and Michael Bracewell, South African all-rounder Wayne Parnell, England’s David Willey, and Indian players Sonu Yadav, Avinash Singh, Siddharth Kaul, and Kedar Jadhav.

In another trade, RCB sent all-rounder Shahbaz Ahmed to Sunrisers Hyderabad in exchange for all-rounder Mayank Dagar. The player retention window for the IPL 2024 season closed on Sunday, with the 10 franchises cumulatively retaining 173 players.

The updated squad for RCB includes players like Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, Mohammed Siraj, and the newly acquired Cameron Green.
