Fashion Designer Rohit Bal in Critical Condition, Receiving Ventilator Support

Fashion designer Rohit Bal is currently in critical condition and receiving ventilator support in the ICU of Medanta Hospital in Gurugram. The 62-year-old designer, who hails from Srinagar, started his career in 1986 and is highly regarded in the fashion industry.

Bal has been struggling with alcohol addiction and has had multiple stints in rehabilitation centers. However, his health took a turn for the worse last November, leading to his immediate admission to Medanta Hospital. This is not the first health scare Bal has faced; in February 2010, he suffered a heart attack that required emergency angioplasty.

Throughout his career, Bal has received numerous accolades for his work. He was named “Designer of the Year” at the Indian Fashion Awards in 2006 and the Kingfisher Fashion Achievement Awards in 2001. In 2012, his contributions to the fashion world were recognized when he was chosen as the Lakme Grand Finale Designer.

Bal’s critical condition has left the fashion industry and his fans deeply concerned. They are anxiously awaiting updates on his health and hoping for a positive response from the medical team at Medanta Hospital.
