Censor Board Mandates Removal of Intimate Scene and Replacement of Dialogue in Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal

The Censor Board of Film Certification has ordered several changes to be made in Ranbir Kapoor’s upcoming film, “Animal.” The film, which is set to release on December 1, has a runtime of 3 hours and 23 minutes, according to the CBFC report. It has been given an Adults Only (A) certificate.

One of the changes demanded by the CBFC involves removing “intimate visuals” between the characters Vijay and Zoya. The report states that the close-up shots of these scenes have been deleted at a specific timestamp in the film. Additionally, the CBFC has ordered the modification of certain words and dialogues. At 1 hour and 31 minutes, a word has been changed to “Black,” and the word “vastra” has been replaced with “costume.” Two undisclosed dialogues have also been modified. At 2 hours and 13 minutes, the word “natak” has been muted, and the subtitles have been changed to “You change pads four times a month.”

The film showcases a complex father-son relationship, despite its action-packed and violent scenes. Ranbir Kapoor has described his character as the most complex he has ever played, with director Sandeep Reddy Vanga giving each character different emotions and complexities.

Ranbir Kapoor shared how he came to accept the role in the film. Sandeep Reddy Vanga approached him, showing him a photograph from his days of playing in the Celebrity Cricket League. This photo caught Vanga’s attention, and he wanted Kapoor to bring the same expression to his character in “Animal.” Kapoor jokingly said that his days of unemployment came in handy for this role and expressed his gratitude to Vanga for the opportunity.

“Animal” is Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s second Hindi film, following the success and controversy surrounding “Kabir Singh.” “Kabir Singh” is a remake of Vanga’s Telugu film “Arjun Reddy.”
