While the Indian cricket team is currently engaged in a T20I series against Australia at home, they have chosen to rest most of their first-team players and field a young squad for the ongoing series. Kohli, who was a standout performer in the World Cup and won the prestigious “Player of the Tournament” award, was recently spotted on the streets of London. In a viral video on social media, Kohli and Anushka were seen at the Winter Wonderland in London, accompanied by their daughter Vamika. Kohli took pictures with fans while Anushka played with their daughter.

As the Indian cricket team enters a new phase following the conclusion of the Cricket World Cup 2023, a young brigade led by Suryakumar Yadav is leading the team against Australia in a 5-match T20I series. However, there is no official confirmation yet on the availability of senior players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma for the upcoming all-format tour of South Africa.

It has now been revealed that Kohli has decided to skip the white-ball assignment against South Africa and will only join the team for the Test series.

According to sources, Kohli has opted out of the T20I and ODI series against South Africa, which is set to begin on December 10. Kohli’s future in the shortest format has been a topic of discussion since the conclusion of the T20 World Cup 2022, as he has been staying away from T20 internationals. However, his absence from the ODI assignment comes as a surprise.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma, the vice-captain of the Indian cricket team, is yet to confirm his availability for the ODI assignment against South Africa. It is expected that he will also skip the T20I series in the Rainbow Nation.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) selection committee, headed by former India all-rounder Ajit Agarkar, will soon announce the Indian team for all three formats for the South Africa tour.

It is likely that both Kohli and Rohit will be part of the Indian team for the Test series, which is scheduled to begin on Boxing Day at Centurion.
