A police constable in Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow was injured on duty yesterday after being struck by a speeding car. The incident occurred at Lucknow’s Awadh crossing in the evening. Security camera footage captured the constable standing on the road when the car collided with him and continued driving. The constable was thrown into the air before landing on the road, as shown in the video. Passersby took Amit Kumar, the injured constable, to a nearby hospital where he is currently receiving treatment for his serious injuries.
After the accident, the traffic police personnel pursued the car and successfully apprehended the driver who attempted to flee the scene. Authorities have registered a case against the driver, as it was discovered that the car was traveling in the wrong direction. The driver’s arrest brings hope for justice in this unfortunate incident.
