Ashok Gehlot’s Aide Reveals Sachin Pilot’s Phone Tracked During 2020 Rebellion

Outgoing Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s aide, Lokesh Sharma, has made allegations that the government tracked and monitored the movements and phone of then deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot during the rebellion he staged in 2020. There has been no immediate response from Gehlot, Pilot, or their aides regarding these allegations.

Sharma, who was denied a ticket to contest the Rajasthan assembly polls, has been criticizing Gehlot for the party’s defeat in the elections. He also stated that if the incidents of September last year, when a legislature party meeting was disrupted by Gehlot loyalists, had not occurred and the Congress observers had carried out their agenda, the situation in Rajasthan would have been different. The Congress leadership had intended to bring Pilot in as the chief minister.

Sharma alleged that the monitoring of Pilot’s activities had been happening even before the rebellion, as there was an anticipation that such an event could occur. He claimed that elections could have been fought better if ticket distribution had been done properly, and that the main reason for the defeat was that sitting MLAs’ tickets were not cut despite reports suggesting it.

When asked why action had not been taken on the reports, Sharma attributed it to Gehlot’s stubbornness and his sense of moral duty towards those who had helped him save his government. However, Sharma denied making these allegations solely because he was denied a ticket, stating that he wants corrective measures to be taken before the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

Earlier, on the day the Congress lost in Rajasthan, Sharma had blamed Gehlot for the defeat and criticized his experience, magic, and schemes for failing to bring the party back to power. In response to Sharma’s statement, Pilot expressed concern and stated that the party should investigate the matter for its veracity.
