Rajasthan on Edge as Karni Sena Leader’s Shooting Sparks Tensions, Police Make Breakthrough in Identifying Killers

The Rajasthan Police have identified the two shooters responsible for the murder of Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, the chief of the right-wing group Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena. The accused entered Gogamedi’s house in Jaipur and shot him multiple times at close range while he was having tea.

In response to the incident, the police have formed multiple teams to locate and apprehend the shooters. They have also offered a reward of Rs 5 lakh each for any information that can assist in their arrest. The Director General of Police, Umesh Mishra, has established a special investigation team (SIT) to thoroughly investigate the murder, which has caused considerable tensions in the state.

Following Gogamedi’s death, his supporters have organized a Rajasthan bandh as a form of protest. Demonstrators have blockaded the Shipra Path road outside the hospital and are demanding the immediate arrest of the accused. Protests have also erupted in Churu, Udaipur, Alwar, and Jodhpur districts.

It is worth noting that Gogamedi had a criminal record in the Gogameri police station, with approximately 30 cases filed against him. However, he had been acquitted in several of these cases.

Rohit Godara, a gangster associated with the gangs of Goldie Brar and Lawrence Bishnoi, has claimed responsibility for the murder in a Facebook post. According to police sources, Godara had previously threatened Gogamedi, leading the Rajput leader to file a complaint against the gangster. It is important to mention that gangster Brar, who is based in Canada, is wanted by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and various states in the country. He is also sought for the murder of Punjabi singer Siddhu Moosewala.
